Week 4

Week 4 has had an interesting twist. I procrastinated printing the pineapple card (all due to my annoying printer deciding it will no longer print yellow despite a full ink cartridge) until about 11:30 last night. Sleeping roommate = not a happy camper. Oops! But I got it done. And I think it looked okay... despite a lack of yellow. (grr on you printer!)
This morning I threw on my pineapple shirt, ready for a great Pineapple Wednesday! "Methuselah Honeysuckle" and I started walking to class our usual way, cutting through the cemetery. Usually, we only see one or two people walking to class through the cemetery, but today it was full of artists! There were tons of people drawing in the cemetery today. Methuselah and I were a bit baffled at first. Joking, I suggested we give our pineapple away to someone in the cemetery so my arms wouldn't get tired walking all the way to class and so i wouldn't get any pineapple inflicted battle wounds again. We didn't really pass right next to anyone, so we didn't give out our pineapple in the first half of the cemetery. My arms were getting tired (hey, carrying a pineapple all the way to the other side of campus while trying to avoid battle wounds is hard work okay?!) so I vowed that if we found anyone before we left the cemetery, we were giving it to that person. Period. End of discussion. Methuselah, bless her heart, usually just goes along with my plans anyway (how else do you think I convinced her to wander around campus with me and give away a pineapple?), and today was just like every other. To my surprise, blocked from my view by a tall tree, sat a person. I knew we had to give him the pineapple! After almost forgetting to introduce ourselves, we gave away our pineapple. This gentleman had a much better outlook about the pineapple than the guy from Week 2! (THANK YOU Pineapple Guy #4)
We headed off to class, not thinking much of our deed. And treating it much like a regular day. Boring classes. Yada. Yada. And then Nutrition came about. I officially hate that class starting... well, today. Why? Because I don't get cell phone service in that classroom! Blech! Today while sitting in nutrition... I apparently received a call (that went straight to voicemail) from the roommate of our pineapple winner. I didn't get the message until I got home later in the day, but listened to it as soon as I got a chance! The message said something like "Hi Amy Jo my name is Shawn and you gave my roommate a pineapple today! I just wanted to say thank you because it brightened up his day and it brightened up my day and now it's brightening up our house. So I just wanted to say thank you so much to you and to Methuselah Honeysuckle." Yes. I practically memorized it... but lots of people (roommates, friends, etc.) like to stay updated on the events of the pineapple. I must say I was incredibly excited to receive this message! I was all set and ready to call back when... I realized that due to lack of service during nutrition... It didn't have a call back number. :( :( Devastated. I did in fact share the message with Methuselah as soon as I saw her. She was quite pleased as well, but also disappointed there was no callback number. We did, however, really enjoy the fact that the caller's name is "Shawn" (sorry if that is not the correct spelling) and he could pronounce the name Methuselah. We sort of wonder if it was just a ploy and that he just knows psych and is testing us to see if that is where we got our inspiration. If so.. the answer is yes. It is.
Dear Shawn. If you read this, which I hope you do. I would just like you to know that I am truly sorry for the fact that I have no way to reach you. Feel free to call/text again (or even comment on the blog!) Methuselah and I are always happy to hear from Pineapple Wednesday winners... or roommates of Pineapple Wednesday winners! Love, Amy Jo.

In any case, Dear probably non-existent blog readers.. I will update you if anything happens!
Happy Pineapple Wednesday! Aloha!
